The data

Public filings, checked every week

Texas Comptroller sales-tax permit data, updated weekly

Every lead traces back to a public permit record. Businesses file before they start selling, so the list sees them early.

Why shops use it

Get to the job before anyone else knows it exists

Reach owners before a competitor pitches them

Businesses file for a permit before they start selling, often weeks before opening day.

Quote while they're still choosing vendors

Reach them while they're still lining up vendors, not after the sign is ordered.

No cold-calling random businesses

Every lead is a new storefront-type business in your county: restaurants, retail, salons, medical, fitness, auto.

Know who to call first

Each lead is marked Opening soon or Just opened and scored A/B/C for how likely it needs signage now.

Know what to say

A short intro email, a call opener, and a walk-in line come with every lead on Core.

A short list, not a database

One focused sheet each Monday, sorted by score, instead of a giant export.

How it works

Three steps, every Monday

The state publishes new sales-tax permits as public data. Many list a first-sales date that's weeks away. That gap is your window.

  1. 01

    We pull the new permits

Fresh Texas Comptroller sales-tax permit filings for your county, filtered to storefront-type businesses.

  2. 02

    We check and sort them

Each lead is checked against public listings, flagged opening soon or just opened, and scored A/B/C.

  3. 03

    You reach out first

Your list arrives Monday morning as a Google Sheet (and CSV), with outreach lines ready to use.

What it's good for

Every new storefront needs something on the wall, window, or truck

  • Permanent signs

Channel letters, monument and pylon signs for new restaurants, clinics, and retail.

  • Window graphics & vinyl

Hours, logos, and storefront vinyl that every new shop needs before opening day.

  • Vehicle wraps

New auto, service, and mobile businesses that want their vehicles lettered.

  • Grand-opening banners

A quick first job that gets you in the door before opening day.

What a list looks like

Sample rows

Three real rows from public permit filings in late September 2026. Names and addresses are partly hidden here; your list shows them in full.

FAQ

Questions shops ask

Where does the data come from?

The Texas Comptroller's public "Active Sales Tax Permit Holders" data on the state's open-data portal. Businesses get a permit before they start selling, and many report a first-sales date weeks out. We filter it, check each lead against public listings, and sort it for sign shops. Storefront Radar is independent and not affiliated with the Texas Comptroller.

Which counties do you cover?

Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Wise, Cooke, Montague, and Wichita. Seats are limited to 3 shops per county, or 1 if someone takes the exclusive. Ask if your county is still open.

How does delivery work?

Every Monday morning your list lands in a Google Sheet shared with you (CSV included), and we email you when it's ready. Core plans also get a smaller Thursday drop of new filings.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Every plan is month to month. Reply to any email or write to [email protected] and we'll stop at the end of your current month.

Will other sign shops get the same leads?

At most 3 shops share a county on Core. With an Exclusive county plan, no one else gets your county's list.

Do you contact the businesses on my list?

No. The list is yours to work. We give you the timing and the words; you make the contact.
